Let’s talk about the female middle age mid-rift.
The cuddly donut, the wine belly, the sugar pouch, the menopausal tummy, the squidge, or those adorable love handles!
Call it what you like but trying to shift it takes serious sacrifices, determination, exercise, and a reduction in all things associated with good times, social events, and fun.
The body you had, the body you want, the body you aspire to, the body of dreams, the beach body, the elusive body, the protein body, the enviable body, the fit body, the woman who looks younger than her year’s body. And finally, the Instagram body!
The obsessive, the determined, the focused, the driven, or how about the happy with the way I am body?
It’s topical, it’s talked about, discussed endlessly, our feeds are full of recommendations, suggestions, advice, and diets.
But what does all this achieve? A realisation you can make the change but sometimes it just isn’t as easy as it can be suggested. Eating is driven by emotional need, fulfillment, and happiness. I think we need to shift the emphasis to a bigger picture of self-reflection, emotional drivers, and why we can feel compelled to reach for the sweets, the extra glass of wine and the second helping.
