About Me

I started writing a blog in 2014 as a cathartic outpouring during my separation and subsequent divorce. I turned to the keyboard when I felt I needed to vent my feelings, express emotions and frustrations, and somehow typing really helped.

In 2021 I returned. This time I decided to compile some of the past blogs and I then started to continue writing, it was sporadic, but in 2023 there was so much I wanted to express, the writing began in earnest once more.

Perhaps, one day it might serve to help others. For me the writing has been a release and it now serves as a reminder of what a specific moment felt like. And it was really horrendous at times, sometimes I thought I would never make it through.

My life has moved on from the first post written in 2014 but the title still feels apt; the emotions and the new posts are now about different moments and events but they are always about life and how certain events and challenges make me feel. They are my thoughts and feelings, not those of others.

I don’t write for others to comment or offer sympathy but instead to put into words what I am feeling and thinking because it helps me rationalise, consider and evaluate my actions and their consequences. The blog is very self-indulgent, I have never pretended otherwise.

If you find it and read it, welcome to my world. It is a little window into my soul where I openly discuss disappointments, pleasures, concerns with a generous sprinkling of hope and happiness along the way.

It’s about life, may it always spring eternal optimism.

*And for those who may be interested, I use DH as the abbreviation for my x husband (DH = dick-head). The only descriptive that felt apt at the beginning of my blogging journey. You’ll be relieved to know I have now dropped those letters and hardly think about those early days, what a relief for all of us!
